Buna göre oyunun Steam'deki özel versiyonunu satın alanlar, Duke Nukem Forever'ın özel demosuna ulaşabilecek özel koda da sahip olabilecek. Hiç düşünmeden Borderlands'i almak için harekete geçiyorum, satın alıyorum ve aylar sonrasında Duke'ün demosuna kavuşuyorum.

Yüklemenin bitmesinin ardından demoya çift tıkladığımda hayli heyecanlıydım. Tek istediğim şey, Duke'ün yine alaycı tavrıyla bir şeyler söylemesiydi, ama o bundan daha fazlasını sundu bana. Tek kelimeyle müthiş bir sinematikle giriş yapıyoruz demoya. Arka planda çalan müzik mükemmel ve eğer ilk oyunu oynadıysanız, gördüğünüz görüntüler de yüzünüzde güzel birer tebessüme yol açmıştır eminim. Demo, Duke Nukem'in efsane "Stadyum" bölümüyle başlıyor. O devasa yaratığı yok etmek için devamlı hareket etmeli, arada sırada yukarıdan takviye olarak gönderilen cephaneleri almalıyız. Finalinde Duke, yaratığın gözüne bir tekme atıyor ve gol! Görüyoruz ki, aslında Duke, eski oyunun yenilenmiş halini konsolda oynuyormuş. O sırada etraftaki kızları da görünce işler değişiyor. İşin güzel yanı ise, kızların sorduğu soruya Duke'ün verdiği cevap, aynı anda 3 kişiye verilmiş cevap niteliğini taşıyor diyebilirim. Tabii aynı anda oyunun yıllardır çıkmamasını da eleştiriyor Duke, bu da gayet hoş.

Demo itibariyle iki bölüm oynayabiliyoruz. İkinci bölüm, kurak topraklarda, geniş bir arazide geçiyor. Duke'ün altında devasa aracı, yağmur çamur demeden gidiyor, derken benzin bitiyor ve işte demodaki en önemli amacımızı da öğrenmiş oluyoruz. Yani benzin bulmak. Bu o kadar da kolay değil. Envai çeşit uzaylı ve hatta uzay gemisi bizi bekliyor. Hepsini yok etmek tabii ki görevimiz. Golden Desert Eagle, makineli tüfek, pompalı tüfek, keskin nişancı tüfeği, seri roket atar ve küçültücü silahı kullanabiliyoruz demoda. Özellikle küçültücü silah mükemmel. Domuzlara ateş ederek onları küçücük hale getirmek, ardından da ayağınızla basıp onları öldürmek çok keyifli.
